You don't need to know anything technical. You need an email address, a card for your hosting account, and about 20 minutes of your time.
How setup works
- Tell us about your blog. Send us a message with its name, your domain if you have one, and where your old posts are, if anywhere.
- Open a hosting account. We'll send you a link and a short guide - Railway, Fly.io, Render or DigitalOcean. It takes five minutes, and the bill is yours: usually US$3-7 a month.
- Invite us. Add us as a team member in your hosting account. We never ask for your passwords, and you can remove us any time.
- We set it up. Your blog, your domain with secure
https://, automatic backups, email that reaches inboxes, and your old posts moved over with their images and links. - You get the keys. We show you around, you create your own login, and it's yours. We can't see your password.
Most blogs are ready within a week.
How Care works
Every month, we:
- Update your blog - tested first, with a way back if anything goes wrong
- Check your backups by actually restoring one
- Watch your site and let you know if it's ever down, or your domain or security certificate is about to lapse
- Fix it when something breaks - just email us
What stays yours
- Your account. The blog runs with your hosting company, under your name. We never own or hold your site.
- Your writing. Your posts are plain files you can copy or move anywhere.
- Your choice. Stop the plan and your blog keeps running. Nothing is locked in.
